Privacy Policy

In May 2018 the European Union introduced a new regulation to ensure privacy for every individual. This new regulation is called the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). At Muddy Little Boots we guarantee our commitment to respecting and protecting your personal data and online privacy.

This includes your right to know what we do with the personal information you share with us. It also guides our company’s policies regarding the management of this data, including how the information is collected, processed, stored and for what purposes.

By accessing this website you are consenting to the way information is collected and used, as described within this Data Protection & Privacy Policy.

In return, Muddy Little Boots gives the commitment that your personal data will only be used in ways that are compatible with your wishes, will be stored securely where it is necessary for us to do so, and is compliant with this Data Protection & Privacy Policy.

We will never pass on your information to other parties without your consent. We may be obliged by law to pass on information to official organisations, for example the Police. We never pass information to any marketing companies.

Any information that we do hold about you is under the GDPR basis of ‘Legitimate Interests’ or ‘Consent’. If at any point you do not wish us to hold some of your information then please contact us and we will happily remove it.

We use Google Analytics to collect information about visitor behaviour on our website. Google Analytics stores information about what pages you visit, how long you are on the site, how you got here and what you click on. This analytics data is collected via a JavaScript tag in the pages of our site and is not tied to personally identifiable information. We therefore do not collect or store your personal information (e.g. your name or address) so this information cannot be used to identify who you are.

You can find out more about how Google safeguards data in regards to its analytics service here

These are cookies set on your machine by external websites whose services are used on this site. Cookies of this type are the sharing buttons across the site which allow visitors to share content onto social networks. Cookies are currently set by LinkedIn, Twitter, Facebook, Google+ and Pinterest. In order to implement these buttons, and connect them to the relevant social networks and external sites, there are scripts from domains outside our website. You should be aware that these sites are likely to be collecting information about what you are doing all around the internet, including on this website.

You should check the respective policies of each of these sites to see how exactly they use your information and to find out how to opt out, or delete, such information.

Email Newsletter Subscriptions

Our email newsletters are opt in only, directly with us. We do not buy in mailing lists from third parties and we will never, ever share our mailing lists with third parties. You will only be added to one of our mailing lists if you have specifically asked to hear from us about our books and authors. You can opt out of these emails at any time via the unsubscribe link at the bottom of every email we send.

Our newsletter mailing lists are managed within our Mailchimp account. You can learn more about how Mailchimp secures your data and protects your privacy here

Through Mailchimp we can track, at an individual level, whether the user has opened and clicked on the email. We do not use this information at a personal level, rather we use it to understand open and click rates on our emails to try and improve them. If you want to be sure that none of your email activity is tracked then you should opt out of our emails, which you can do via the unsubscribe link at the bottom of every email we send.
